What have you had enough of?

My day when I decided I’d had enough:

  • Mom to five children aged 2, 4, 5, 11 and 16 alone till 8pm.
  • Waking everyday fearful over what would show up
  • Overwhelmed with drudge
  • Frustrated with unmet needs
  • Desperate for a way through

I Knew:

I couldn’t continue, feeling powerless
I needed to feel better about anything
If I felt better I knew I’d do better
I needed to know how to think, to feel better for longer

NOT by packing up to live on a mountain to eat greens and drink spring water for a year. I’d had a couple of cracks at a weekend away by myself. But the behavioral mayhem that followed made it non viable for a repeat.

NOT by making drastic changes to a routine

NOT by employing a flotilla of people to clean, cook and entertain as money was out of the question.

The Challenge!

Consumed by a lack of control over relentless requirements five children presented. I needed to make it through a day alongside the noise, chaos and demands from within, intact!

My constant internal hammering to be more for these great kids drew me one night to literally ‘throw it out there’ for a solution that’d give certainty I’d feel purposeful amongst it all.

Anger and frustration drove me to redefine my day by looking in rather than around. Knowing that how I behaved and spoke would influence the lives of my family as well as their children. I felt overwhelmed by a sense of responsibility to get a grip and get past the feelings I ran.

What Is Your Challenge?

What If You Could Learn One Thing That Could ‘Fell’ Your Challenge?

What I Learned?

  • That thought linked to other thoughts. I could feel good or bad depending on the nature of my thought.
  • Feeling good and remaining ‘aware’ guaranteed my activity was consistent and purposeful.
  • Linking unfavourable thought to circumstance led a charge downward which trashed my day.
  • It wasn’t positive talk it was power thought and awareness of feeling that I controlled. From there; action generated from feeling good.

Commander of my own ship again.
I do this everyday. Still.

Libby Cupitt is a madly enthusiastic mother of five children from the ages of three to seventeen.

She lives with her children and husband Warren in New South Wales Australia and while spending a large percentage of waking hours looking after their family, she also commits considerable time to researching all areas of personal growth and contemporary parenting networks and information.

Her reasons for writing are to share personal reflections as a parent and ideas she has found consistent success with - as she shifts her own paradigms alongside her children growing and shifting theirs.

She intends to publish her first book in the next 18 months.

Libby is a keen investor and maintains her own business from home, committed to remaining a stay at home parent and spouse but ensuring she remains abreast of the business market.

Her biggest challenge to date remains in aiming at a balance between enough quality time for her own priorities alongside what is essential for her spouse and children.
